Pitch Your Startup, Sharktank-Style, For Free At Digital Arts Expo On May 3
If you’re a startup founder, seize your opportunity to pitch your company, as well as to network with your fellow startup enthusiasts on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at the 7th Annual Digital Arts Expo, one of the most fun, creative tech events in Southern California!
As part of the Expo, Pitch Globally Media, the Los Angeles chapter of one of the leading live events-based network of investors and entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and beyond, is bringing its sharktank-style pitch event to the Santa Clarita Valley, in partnership with the California Insitute of the Arts (CalArts), the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Authority (SCVEDC), and the Santa Clarita Valley Business Journal (SCVBJ).
In this live, sharktank-style pitch event, startup founders have two minutes to vie for attention and feedback from a panel of expert mentors and angel investors, with the winning pitch garnering a private session with the panel investor of their choice and an additional opportunity to pitch in front of a panel of angel investors in the Silicon Valley .
The pitch event, which will run from 6:30-7:3-pm, and will be preceded by a cocktail reception at 5pm, and the SCVBJ Technology Awards at 6pm. Attendees are also invited to stay after the pitch event to hear Book of Life director and CalArts alumni Jorge Gutierrez talk about the digital technology used in creating the award-winning film. His presentation will begin at 8:30 PM.
Startup founders interested in pitching during the Annual Digital Arts Expo or at future sharktank-style events should email Dezzi@umazed.com for more information.

“We are cognizant of the fact that Santa Clarita is one of 5 emerging Los Angeles and Orange County tech areas to watch in 2018, so we’re excited to be a partner in its growth,” stated author, speaker and entrepreneur Kaustav Chadhuri, who began Pitch Globally (originally known as Startup Mind) in 2007 in the Bay Area.
Spearheaded by its Los Angeles-based founders Donavon Urfalian and Dezzi Rae Marshall (who is a resident of Santa Clarita Valley herself), Pitch Globally Media, in addition to connecting startup founders with investors by means of pitch events, aims to be the platform that enables startup founders and entrepreneurs the world over to go from startup idea to successful launch and beyond. Where there are no startup resources available in a specific geo-location, we aim to help create a startup ecosystem that will flourish. Where there are pockets of micro-ecosystems already in existence, we support those startup ecosystems, while being mindful and respectful of the need to maintain the unique flavor of the area.”
Now in its 7th year, the day-long Expo kicks off at 2pm and goes till 2am the next day. It will showcase over 400 exhibitions featuring the latest, most innovative works that integrate tech with visual and performing arts. New technology prototypes and virtual environments will be on display in nearly all corners of the institute.
